What items should you check next?

you have been called a customer site to repair a networking problem. the user cannot see any other computers on her network. you check the drivers for the NIC, and you check the protocols that are installed in the operating system, and they appear to be okay. you also check the NIC and see that that light on its back panel is not glowing.
