Sub/amp question?

Ok i'm purchasing a amp and a sub to put in my '93 SI. I've pretty much narrowed it down to this sub, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8834_Power+Acoustik+SL-12W.html. Now the only thing im lookin for is a amp. Can someone help me out on what amp I should buy..I'm looking to maximize the potentional of this sub. And also can someone help me out with what Peak Power Output means? if the peak power output on the amp exceeds the one of the sub will it blow the sub? and if the amp is puttin out less rms then the sub is made for will it play it?
