Why do some people believe what the bible says?

Seriously? its one book. there are trillions of books out there. What makes that one so special? Because it is the word of god? because it was written by a bunch of guys that followed around some other guy like follow the leader? because the Line Leader has enough money to pay someone to pretend to be blind and then mysteriously heal him? There is a little play called the Crucible by Arthur Miller. In this particular play, which is based on the events of the Salem Witch Trials, a small town of, about 250 people, which is run solely on christianity believes that the bible says that there are Witches. The people of the town, not knowing any better, then decide to murder twenty people, and throw about 150 people in jail. all because the bible says that witches are real. We now know that Witches aren't real and that there is no such thing as mystical powers. but what about angels? in this particular case, what is the difference between Angels, and Witches. The bible says that there are both. why don't we still believe in Witches? because its ridiculous right? but why do we still believe in Angels??? whats the difference??? im open to all opinions
